My best friend, Anaya Jang, only ever used the words “I need to talk” when it was serious. They are my cue to drop whatever I’m doing and rush to San Myshuno whether or not my outfit is cute. But I’m always cute.

Baako, her hubs, is trippin’. Like, really trippin’. Nay’s been wanting to have another baby for a while, but B is being flaky as plum. You know what he said? This fool asked if she ever thought about being with other people. Those words actually came out of his mouth! He’s significantly older than us and must be having a midlife crisis or something. Let me find out he stepped out. I’ll show him what really goes down in Britechester. Mmm hmm! Don’t act like you don’t know we invented the bar brawl. Yes, Britechester, the beautiful college town. Everyone assumes we’re all so prim, proper and intelligent, and we are. But try the Watcher, not us. We throw hands.

All I know is Baako better get it together and give me a nephew because Billie will be waiting a long time if she’s expecting me to give her a playmate. I’m not opposed to having children. In fact, I’d love a family one day…a long time from now. But, in this season of my life, I’m focusing on me. In my past life, I placed too much emphasis on my partners and pleasing others. I always had to be in a relationship and did way too much to keep them. I lost myself, and that’s how I ended up in Sulani. I’m better off now and could probably handle a relationship, but I will let the chips fall where they may. Next time, I want to do things differently. I’m done chasing. Whoever the next man is will have to find me because I’m not looking.
