Winston ought to know how I am by now. No celebration gets by me! I don’t know how this fool thought he could just end his career for a life of relaxation without a party. Plum fool. He kept saying he didn’t need all that. I promptly ignored him and baked a cake. I also invited Nay, Jules, and his favorite colleagues. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Emmy had a little crush on Akira. She stayed by him and stared at him all night. It was so cute.
I’m sure she has no idea what it means to retire right now, but just like she did for her birthday, she went with it and made quite a ruckus for her daddy. He was adorably embarrassed.
I’m really glad that Emmy is a child right now at this stage of our relationship. When she was a toddler, we didn’t talk much or spend quality time together. She was too young to understand how unhealthy that was. But things are much better now, and she sees it all. I’m just glad we give her something positive to look at.
