With Winston retired, and me expanding my business, I’d been taking on more clients and working outside the house. I’m loving being mobile again and working wherever my heart leads, but what I love even more is coming home to a clean house, home cooked meal, my child doing schoolwork, and my boo helping her. I love our life so much. We’ve developed such a beautiful rhythm. This is what I always imagined we could be.

I hadn’t been in the house more than 10 minutes before Winston suggested we go to the Romance Festival. Outings like that were usually more my thing, and I was taken by surprise but also excited. We got all bundled up and made our way to San Myshuno. I know I need to give Emerald a chance to prove she can be trusted by herself, but I’m not ready. We took her with us and dropped her at Nay’s apartment.

It was so cold! I’m surprised the festival wasn’t canceled. Still, there were idiots out there dressed like it was a Sulani BBQ or something.

Winston and I reminisced about the last time we were there. I was pregnant with Emerald, and that was the first time we said I love you to each other. It was such a magical time in our relationship, despite the concerns I had. Winston agreed and said he wanted to revisit that magic for what he wanted to do next…
