2.251 Work that Body

I didn’t remember any of the poses, so my children and I followed the instructor together. My muscles didn’t remember either and screamed at me for stretching them so much. The instructor was so fast, we could barely keep up with him! If this was the family friendly class, I’d hate to see what the beginner class is like. I wished I could see my kids’ faces and gauge if they were enjoying it. We were all grunting and concentrating on keeping our balance, so it’s possible they wouldn’t like it. We’ll debrief after.

The end of yoga routines is always my favorite part, not because it’s over but because I love to lie there, breathing deeply and clear my mind. It’s so peaceful! I hope my kids experience that peace. Adults often think kids don’t have worries because they’re young, resilient, and carefree, but I don’t believe that at all. My children have been dealt an interesting hand. They didn’t ask for this, and I’d be a fool to think they’re not affected by our actions.

“Mama…”

“Huh?”

“It’s over.”

How embarrassing. “Oh. Help me up, son.”

Luca said he enjoyed the class and would love to do it again. Alessia, again, was not impressed. I swear, I will find an activity she enjoys if it’s the last thing I do!
