A little later, I took Shiloh for a walk around our new neighborhood. It’s crazy how cold it gets in spring time here. I bundled up and stepped into the crisp air with my best girl at my side. I think she was just as hesitant as I was, taking small steps, sniffing every little thing, and stopping every three seconds to look and listen. Doggies are such intuitive creatures and listen to their gut. But they have so much heart as well. I think they’re the best animals on earth.
As we walked, I couldn’t help but think about my classmates who were in the same position. Only a handful moved out. Though, I’m sure they aren’t living in beautiful houses purchased by their parents. They’ve probably got jobs and tiny apartments in the city. I still don’t know what I’d like to do yet, but I’m grateful my parents were able to set me up like they did. Whatever I end up doing, I hope I can do the same for my children.
I knew what most of my classmates got up to, but there was one in particular I hadn’t heard from yet. He was always the elusive one. I could never find him when I wanted to talk, and when he was around, someone always occupied him. No wonder he stayed on my mind. I didn’t know him as well as I’d like, but there was just something about him that made me all doe eyed and smiley. I feel like whenever I say his name, heart eyes emojis should appear out of thin air (sigh).
