After moving in and putting my pictures and knick knacks where I wanted, I stood in the living room, beaming with pride. Everything looked so classy, like a grownup lived there. And the best part about it is, I finally feel like one! I know it’s not good to compare one’s self with others, but I always feel like such a child still. Moving out helped only slightly. Dating and woohoo certainly didn’t help. I thought getting a job would, but I don’t feel called to any one profession. But this house… I feel mature and full of life here. Honestly? I think it is less about the house and more about the decision-making process. I’ve never made such a major decision on my own before. Mommy had always either told me what to do or strongly advised so. And thank the Watcher! I seriously needed that guidance. But now I am taking back the reigns on my life and doing Kiki!

I LOVE the kitchen! First of all, it’s ginormous. Secondly, it’s green. This house was definitely on the market waiting for me.

The sunroom is a nice spot to chill and work with a computer and chess table. I think Hunter will love it, so I put his bed there.

One thing I love about traditional houses are the rooms. They are all contained and separated by doors or archways. My childhood home was open. That floor plan worked for us and kept us together even when we did separate things. But there weren’t too many places to go because of it. I enjoy leaving a room and being in a different place. It makes the house feel bigger than it is.

The master suite is amazing! Nice and big with a spa-like bathroom and a nice size balcony. I think it would be fun to sit up there and watch Hunter and Shiloh play in the park. Maybe in the future me and Ali will watch our children.

They styled the second bedroom for two male children. We’ll see if I have to redecorate it, but this is a nice starter house for a small family. There is a smaller third room for all things creative. I think I’ll keep it that way for now. Maybe Ali will need it for something. But, for now, it’s just me and my fur babies, and I’m glad they can have their own spaces if they need it and can have their meals together like the family we are.
