Ali was kinda shy about dancing with me at first. I don’t mess around on the dance floor. I give it my all or nothing at all. Maybe I should have eased him into it. Poor guy didn’t know what to do with these hips. I’d be glad to show him, heh. Let me stop before he thinks I’m too much. I’ve already derailed his night, but he appears to be ok with that. It didn’t take him long to catch up with me, and I was impressed. His dancing skills needed work, but I could tell he tried his best and he had fun. Dancing is less about the moves and more about the attitude. I loved watching sims with no skills who danced with their whole heart.

Dwayne finally spotted me, and I froze. He grinned, swaggering toward me. My cheeks were on fire, and I really hoped Ali couldn’t see. That thought made me realize why I felt so weird. Everyone knew about me and Devonte, so I didn’t need to hide. But the jungle tryst was supposed to stay between us. It was a secret, kind of like having an affair. When I see him now, that’s all I can think about. The pleasant memories flashed in my head, and I felt like everyone could see it.

“Hey! You avoiding me now?”

Rats! He did see me before.

I lied and said I’d been hanging out with my new friend. I mean, it was true, but I’d been avoiding him too.

He smiled and looked at Ali. “Ok! Let me get out of your way then. I’ll holla at you.”

He was the same ol’ cool, casual Dwayne. I was the one making it weird. Did I think he would try to seduce me or something? I dunno. Maybe since we finally saw each other and spoke, I wouldn’t feel so weird in the future. I would hate it if our lust ruined our friendship.

I think I floated home because I don’t recall my feet touching the ground. I probably smiled in my sleep too. I crawled into bed, grinning. Shiloh came to say goodnight.

“I have a new friend,” I said, beaming.

She just stood there, panting at me. I’ll take that as a sign of approval.
