2.3

Early the next morning, as I ate leftover fish pie, the neighbors came to welcome me. It wasn’t terribly early (maybe 9ish), but I’m not sure why they thought it was appropriate to visit a stranger before noon. Even Shiloh thought it rude.

They brought food, though! Heh, they may be rude, but at least they’re smart. It was a delicious fruitcake, and I didn’t have to share it with anyone else. This living on my thing is looking up already.

Maybe they recognized how rude it was to visit so early because they looked very sad. Their names were Justin and Surpriya Delgato, and they live in the big house on the other side of the beach. I don’t remember what Justin said he did, but Supriya is a veterinarian, and they have a house full of cats and dogs! Shiloh liked her a lot, and I considered visiting them so she could make friends. But she snapped at their daughter, Evie. Issa no from me, and add Evie to my list of people I don’t want to befriend.

Mommy would choose that moment to call. I know she wanted to know how I got on last night, and I appreciated the call. I just had my hands full with my guests, fruitcake, and figuring out what Evie did to my dog. I said I’d call her back.
