Everyone finally came inside and got acquainted. More like everyone came inside and listened to Mrs. Pancakes question me for an hour. I swear she should have been a detective.
This girl I remember from school walked in. I forgot her name, but I remember thinking she didn’t like me. She’s married to the other stranger who is from Mt. Komorebi and clearly loves my mother’s fashion. I love how much of a trendsetter she is, but if I never saw that outfit again, I’d be forever grateful.

I am not unaccustomed to her pop-up visits, but I genuinely was not expecting her that night, and my heart was so full. She told me how proud she was, and I was so happy I could have screamed!
After the others left, she stayed a little while longer, although it was pretty late for her. I told her about running into Ali and how we’re having dinner tomorrow. She was so happy and excited for me.
After she left, I cleaned the dishes and went to bed. We were all pooped but very happy.
