Good thing I moved to Willow Creek and not Windenburg or staying in the Bay. Ali does NOT like the cold. Like at all. Regretfully, I did not check the weather before inviting him to the community center in Evergreen Harbor. They were in a full on blizzard!

I thought about Ali’s business plan and remembered seeing that type of equipment when I tried to unearth my jungle treasure. I figured we could check it out and start putting together some ideas.

Tables full of items for sale that sims crafted there met us as soon as we walked in. Today was all about candles. We saw several tables full of all kinds, and he pointed out each type and told me how they’re made. Those carved ones were so elegant and detailed. I didn’t think I’d ever get to that level of fancy. Even with him explaining the method, I couldn’t grasp how all those colors were applied in such small spaces. It was really amazing.

I had one thought while looking at the candles. More like a requirement. We were NOT going to spend all our free time manning tables in places like this and flea markets, selling overpriced candles, hoping to pay for our time and effort. I was 100% on board with Ali’s dream, but it couldn’t interfere with our family time. If I learned anything from my mother’s business, it was that e-commerce and having a web presence was the way to go. We needed to get on Plopsy. Oh yeah. This would work! I didn’t have a job, so I could take care of shipping and stuff during the day. Ali said it was a great idea, but technology wasn’t his thing, and he left the web stuff to me. I enjoyed that bit of life planning with him! I had so much more to look forward to than being in awe of his gorgeous face and making blue-eyed babies.

After the candle tour, I led him to the room where all the maker stuff was, and he told me what each machine did. The fizzing station sounded really interesting! But, if we got into that, I’d probably have to garden too. At least being in control of the fruits’ quality seemed like it would be the key to producing awesome drinks. I wasn’t opposed to it because I loved spending time outside. But to add that on top of everything else, it just sounded like too much.

“How much do all these machines cost?” I asked.

He sighed. “A lot. A whole lot.”

“Guess Evergreen Harbor will see a lot of us then.”

“Not unless you want to keep coming here. They’ve been building a maker space right in my neighborhood, and it’s looking really good. Even nicer than this place. It’s almost finished, actually.”

Excellent news! Maybe by the time it opens we’ll have solid plans and will be ready to get started.
