I could barely sleep that night! I didn’t get the steps down, but I had so much fun dancing, meeting sims, and making friends. Too bad Dwayne didn’t show up. I’m sure there were lots of ladies in there he’d want to talk to.

He was on his way to the kitchen, but I intercepted him immediately to tell him about my night seeing as how Shiloh was a terrible audience. I was too excited to ask him how his first day in the jungle went. He briefly told me about it before abruptly changing the subject.

He appreciated me inviting him on this trip but wondered why him and if that meant I had given up on our high school drama. Oh, Dwayne. He never holds anything back and always keeps it 100. That’s why I love him…as a friend.

I admitted to being done chasing Devonte.

“Laurant too?”

I never told him about Laurant. I never told anyone about Laurant! Did he know me that well??

“Mmm hmm. I see how y’all be staring at each other when you think no one is looking. You know I never tried you like that. But even if I did, I never had a shot. Not as long as Laurant was around. So…you’re really done? You on some grown ish now?”

That was the plan. Part of me wishes I were brave enough to deal with the drama and keep it moving, but I’m not. I’m also not strong enough. So, yeah…I’m walking away.

“That’s what’s up. Do what you need to do. You out here doing it on your own while the rest of us scrubs still at home. Don’t let us hold you back.”

I swear I love this guy! Everyone needs an honest friend like him.
