I made a doggie friend! I wish I would have brought Shiloh. Maybe she would have liked him too. Heh, thinking about it, Shiloh and I were made for each other. I’m afraid to leave my comfort zone, and she’s afraid of water. And the TV. And my laptop. (sigh) She loves the stereo though! I guess we’re both weird. But we found each other and love each other to death.
I found the waterfall after my new friend left. It wasn’t as big as I thought it would be, but Watcher was it beautiful! I could have stayed there playing in the water all night; I felt like such a child. But I had more of the island to see.
Daddy said he used to live near the volcano. When I was a little girl, I used to think that was so cool. Now I think he was insane since stumbling across his old house. It was very nice—much bigger than I imagined. But it was much too close to the volcano. I even saw volcanic rock in his yard!! Now I think I understand why Mommy never brought me to this island.
But why did I keep going? The ground got hotter the closer I got to the top of the mountain, and the roar of the swirling lava got louder. This volcano was still alive and I jogged up the hill with no shoes? I must be insane too.
The ground got too hot for me to handle just as I reached the top. I don’t think I would have been able to see anything anyway, so I ran down as fast I could.
