Mommy did a really nice thing and made over Luca’s room! Well, she hired a team to paint and install furniture while she added the finishing details herself. I love it! It’s much brighter and feels so clean now. Luca is probably too young to appreciate it, not that he spends much time in there, anyway. I do hope he likes it though.
Speaking of Mommy, she’s too busy being super grandma to give me any real revelations about motherhood, and I’m figuring things out on my own. My most recent discovery is children think moms are both the best and worst sims in the world. My little guy has high expectations and demands excellence at all times. When he has a nightmare, he expects me to comfort him. Ali, bless his sweet heart, tries to run interference so my much needed rest is not interrupted. But the child will not hear of it and expects me and my third trimester belly to get on his level and hug it out.
He also expects his belly to never be empty, despite knowing he will call forth fire from on high if I wake him up before he’s fully rested.
But when he loves me, he really loves me. He flashes those four teeth and beams at me as if I am the only one who matters. Even more than gammy! And honestly? Seeing that cute little face is enough to melt away all that anxiety. I am truly blessed.
