My stray friend looked like a regular visitor coming up the stairs as I walked out to get the mail. I laughed at how comfortable he looked, as if he visited me every week or something. I should give him a name. We keep meeting! I told him if he comes back again, I’m going to keep him. He’s certainly acting like a stray who wants to be kept.

That got me thinking. I don’t know this dog well, but I didn’t know Shiloh either at first. Sims are the same. No one can know what another being is like until she takes the risk and opens up. My scrawny friend has never been aggressive toward me or Shiloh. As a matter of fact, I think he may like her. At least he’s friendly and comfortable with her. I’d been hesitant to bring him into the house, but he must get comfortable with me and learn to trust, just as I must get comfortable and learn to trust him. So I invited him inside. He wandered for a few seconds and made a mad dash for Shiloh’s food. Poor guy. I really hope he’ll stay. I know Shiloh won’t like it, and I don’t really have the space for two dogs. I barely have space for one. But I want him to be part of this family! I see strays all the time, but there is something about him that has tugged on my heartstrings. If he’ll stay, we will figure out how to make the best of our living situation.

The sounds he made as he scarfed down the food broke my heart. He ate with such urgency and desperation. When was the last time he had a meal? His skin and bones gave me the answer. I left him to enjoy his long awaited meal in private while I went outside to find Shiloh. She has avoided him like an annoying stalker, but like me and Laurant, she can’t ignore him anymore. I had to go all the way down to the beach and found her rolling around in that pile of muddy weeds she loves so much. 😑😑😑 It should be noted I already bathed her once that day. (sigh)

I guess I was gone too long because when I returned to the house, our guest was gone.

I thought for sure he’d stick around. No wonder his girlfriends dump him. He’s the hit it and quit it type, tee hee hee. Oh well. We made progress. Maybe next time he’ll stay.
