One day, I was taking out the trash and found my stray friend on my back porch! He played with Shiloh’s ball while she napped. How in the world did he find me? Or did he just feel the good vibes from my home and knew he would be welcome? However he ended up on my porch, I’m glad he did.
Shiloh heard my voice and awoke from her nap startled to see the four-legged stranger with me. Or maybe she was more upset I allowed him to play with her favorite toy since dogs are childish like that.
I told her it was ok, and he was a friend. Sometimes friends need help, and in this house, we help all friends who need us. I thought maybe she’d calm down if she saw me interacting with him, so I tried to take them both on a walk. Thankfully, he let me put a leash on him. But Shiloh was not interested in entertaining these shenanigans. She went as far as my property line and went back inside. Hmph. Jealous much?
He didn’t smell as bad as before, but I still wanted to give him a bath. But bringing him in the house was still a bad idea. Instead, I brushed his coat. I knew may not let me get that close to him, but he did. He even sneaked a kiss. Cheeky boy!
Thankfully, he had short hair, and it didn’t take me long to get him looking a little more put together. As soon as I released him, he ran off. Probably to one of his girlfriends. Hmph. I think I know what the other ones feel like. Hit it and quit it, hee hee. He’ll be back because none of them will treat him as well as I do. I laughed at my own goofiness as I watched him disappear down the hill. I wanted to call Laurant and tell him about my wild friend, but I’m still not talking to him. Maybe I could stop being mad for 10 minutes. He probably wouldn’t want to hear from me anyway. (sigh)
