Autumn in San Sequoia reminded me of Willow Creek. Even though the leaves changed and fell, the warm air hung around for a long time. That perfect, pleasant kind of warm. The more I got out and experienced the city, the more I fell in love with it and was glad we moved there. It was really cool how Dad even let me have a say, honestly. True, I wasn’t a little boy anymore, but it wasn’t my house, and neither of us knew how long I’d stay there.
I received a distressing call from Maira during my morning jog. She sounded down, like she was trying and failing at being okay. I wanted to know who hurt her and what happened, but she couldn’t talk at the moment and asked if we could meet up after she got off work. That was perfect because I had business to attend to after my run.
I found a path between two houses, which turned out to be a shortcut home. That’s where I saw Chi Chi and nearly forgot about Maira and her problems. Great Watcher Almighty! She was even hotter than she was yesterday! Her hair, the outfit, the way she swung those hips… I was so gobsmacked, I almost ran into the wall. Such a dork.
“Heeey, Luca! Looking good!”
So she did remember my name. Maybe she realized how old my dad was and forgot about him, heh. Regardless, I was going to need a very cold shower when I got home.
ahhh im ready to see maira again even though luca is swimming in options LOL. and love all his reviews about san seq. i will be planning a vacay/move there asap!!!
