3.28 Where was I?

After my very long, very cold shower, I finally made it to the recreation center in a neighborhood called Gilbert Gardens. It reminded me of the community center in Newcrest. Maybe “recreation center” and “community center” were the same thing because they had similar amenities. Both had a playground and a grilling area outside. Inside, they shared a small gym, cafe area, reading room, kids’ play room, a study area, and creative zones. This one, named the Celebration Center, had a music and an art room. But the reason for my visit was none of those things. I came to inspect the grounds because I was told I could host my yoga classes there with no strings attached!

The sim I spoke to said my classes would be great advertising for them and would get more sims to visit the center. They didn’t have any space inside for me at the moment, but I was welcome to the yard if it was large enough. Not only was the space more than I could hope for, but there were so many large plots of grass to choose from! I walked around the building a few times, just taking it all in because Mama was right. My business was about to take off, and I was so happy and proud of myself.

Just as I was leaving, the lady I spoke to called me back inside. She said she just remembered the spa across the street occasionally needed yoga instructors, and I should inquire there. I thanked her for the information and said I would definitely look into that soon. It was nearing 3:00, and I needed to make my way to Magnolia Promenade for a late lunch/early dinner with Maira, so the spa would have to wait until the next day. But before I left Gilbert Gardens, I walked around a bit, seeing as I hadn’t been there before.

The area was so peaceful, yet bustling with life. A large lake sat in the middle while all manner of activity surrounded it. There were more picnic tables than I could count. I saw a fishing dock, chess tables, and a splash park. On the other side of the lake was a fancy-looking building surrounded by a garden. I’d have to see what that was all about soon. San Sequoia had something for everyone. No wonder there were so many young families and retired sims out there. We truly picked the perfect place to live not only for Dad’s retirement, but possibly my future as well. If I was a child, I think I’d enjoy growing up here. Maybe my future kids will too.
