3.61 Sophia’s magic

I don’t know what took place at the hospital that had Sophia so worked up, but WOW. She had a lot of steam to blow off and blew my mind in the process. I in no way wanted her to be frustrated every day, but if this was how she wanted to deal with it… Like I said…I’m here to support her every need, heh. At first, I was surprised by how rough she was, but I kinda liked it. We exhausted all of her frustration and were in desperate need of food even though we were supposed to have dinner with Dad that night. But there were too many hours in between, so we caved and ate. Hopefully, he wouldn’t take offense. After all, the night was supposed to be about their meeting, not him slaving over a hot stove to impress her or whatever.

Yasmine called on our way to San Sequoia, and I sent it to voicemail. I didn’t know what she wanted, and it didn’t matter. Answering that call with Sophia on my arm would be a grave mistake, but I seriously needed to stop playing around and talk to her already. She deserved to know our situationship was over.

I greeted Dad and apologized in advanced for his lonely dinner. He said that I’d miss out on his homemade croutons he made for the soup. I love his homemade croutons, but I’d take hot, dirty woohoo with Sophia over them any of the year. Heh, the millennia! I introduced them, and Dad expressed how great it was to meet, finally. Sophia promptly got to work, turning on the charm and making him feel comfortable. In truth, charm wasn’t necessary because it was innate to her. Naturally, she started with complimenting the house and stating how much I talked about him. I could tell Dad was trying to remain cautious and objective, but I knew him. He already liked her, and no one could resist Sophia. It was impossible to feel negatively about this woman. She’d have him smiling and laughing within a few minutes, just like she did me.

Dad eventually peeled himself away from the cacophony of laughter to enjoy the meal he had so carefully prepared. Sophia graciously joined him at the table and regaled him with a few funny work stories. She totally stole his attention. I sat there, listening to their banter, reveling in my success, not that I expected the night to go any other way. Sophia was magical, and I loved giving my dad a chance to understand why I did not hesitate to be with her.
