Despite Anissa’s reservations about befriending Jorden, she couldn’t deny that, a.) he was FINE, and b.) he was fun to hang out with. Against her better judgment, she changed clothes. Another blistering day was upon them, and she wanted to dress cool and look cute, but not like she was trying to be cute. After trying on nearly everything in her closet, she hoped her outfit achieved that goal.
The wardrobe debacle made her just a tad bit late to breakfast, and she was anxious about how she’d find Jorden. Would he be mad at her tardiness? Would he be a blubbering mess she’d have to comfort? It was such a shame their first outing was under these conditions. Grief comfort was not her bag. Even after trying to resist his friendship, she didn’t want to leave a bad taste in his mouth.
