Britechester winters were chilly and white. As beautiful as the snow made the already charming town, Melany longed for the warmth of Sulani. The weather was perfect this time of year. It didn’t get blazing hot, and rain was scarce.
She shed her coat at the door wondering why she even brought it. Though, Oasis Springs had a pretty chilly day yesterday. It could happen. The holiday tunes greeted her ear, and the pineapple glaze from the ham teased her nose. It was so good to be back.
Nadia caught her loitering in the foyer and pulled her into a tight hug. “Heeeey, Missy! Merry Winterfest! I was expecting you earlier.”
Melany rolled her eyes. “Yeah, I know. I had two classes today.”
“Ugh! My professors would cancel classes on holidays! They had lives too.”
Apart from escaping winter wonderland, Melany had one thing on her mind: the thing only Nadia would appreciate. Holidays could be hectic, but she made sure her business got on her agenda. “At some point today, can we go away and talk?”
She gasped. “Yes, girl! Absolutely! I should be dead waiting for this story!”
Little did she know how much extra had been added to the story.
