Melany visited Anissa after Gabby’s meltdown. Of course she still cared about her! How could she think otherwise? It wasn’t Melany’s fault Gabby didn’t try hard enough to connect with her new friends and rarely left the house. What did she want her to do? Lie around and be miserable with her? Melany tried to encourage her and offered to help but there was only so much she could do without enabling her. Maybe this was a good thing. Perhaps figuring things out on her own is what she needs. In the meantime, Gabby was right about one thing. Her new friends were a breath of fresh air. Like-minded. Ambitious. They encouraged her which was a different experience. Was it possible to outgrow friendships? Was that what happened between her and Gabby?
